ABOUT THE FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
Dr. Blessing Chinweobo-Onuoha is the Founder and President of the Development Communication Research Association of Nigeria (DECRAN), leading a dynamic network of scholars and practitioners dedicated to advancing communication for national development.
She holds a PhD in Development Communication, with specialisation in Health Communication, from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, where she is a senior lecturer.
A committed researcher and communication strategist, she founded DECRAN to strengthen the link between evidence-based communication research and development challenges in Nigeria.
Her work promotes participatory methods, digital inclusion, and community-driven communication systems that support marginalized groups and national progress.
As a mentor and research-writing coach, she has helped build research capacity among young scholars and professionals.
Under her leadership, DECRAN has become a knowledge hub that drives scholarly dialogue, research dissemination, and impactful conferences shaping development communication in Nigeria.
She continues to encourage researchers to produce knowledge that informs policy, transforms communities, and broadens the field of development communication.
