We are the Development Communication Research Association of Nigeria: a community advancing communication research, learning and practice for sustainable development.

Founded on 12 March 2024, DECRAN unites development communication researchers, educators, practitioners and students in Nigeria and internationally.

What began with 17 founding members has grown into a network across Nigerian universities and the wider development communication community. Under the leadership of Dr. Blessing Chinweobo-Onuoha, the association creates opportunities to learn, collaborate and contribute to positive social change.

We provide a platform for academic and policy discussion, support excellence in research and learning, and connect communication scholarship with the challenges facing communities.
